Global Development Analytics (GDA) is a U.S. based 501c3, working in the international economic development domain. GDA’s impact is in the social enterprise arena—specifically working with public and private organizations to use data and technology to enable data driven decisions across the farm-to-fork food systems
GDA is small—and intends to remain so. The strength of impact is derived from collaborative partnerships with small businesses, research organizations, universities and NGOs
A complex combination of factors—increasing weather variability and intensity, growing populations and demand for nutritious food and the rapid penetration of mobile technologies—demand that More action is needed, and needed Now.
All of these factors point to the need for location specific solutions. Broad generalized information cannot inform populations impacted by small “pocket droughts”. Mobile technologies provide the tools to allow tech innovators to use the rich agro-meteorology data to target decision support information services to local needs.
Our aim is to leverage collaborative partnerships to shorten development cycles of solutions that can empower emerging populations and economies.
Information is a powerful enabler—even more so is those throughout the farm-to-fork food system have access to the same information.
